Colombia Online (“we”, “us”, “our”) understands that privacy is important and we are committed to being transparent about the technologies we use. This Cookie Policy explains how and why cookies and other similar technologies may be stored on and accessed from your device when you use or visit the Customer Websites (collectively, “the Sites”). This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
A cookie is a small text file that can be stored on and accessed from a device when someone visits one of the Sites. The other tracking technologies work similar to cookies and place small data files on devices or monitor website activity to enable us to collect information about use of our Sites.
When End Users visit a Customer Website that uses our technology or has our cookies, we (and our partners or vendors) use and deploy tracking technologies to automatically collect certain information about the End Users and their devices. Some of this information (including, for example, unique identifiers stored in a cookie or mobile advertising IDs) may identify a particular computer or device and may be “personal data” in some jurisdictions, including the EU. However, our Ad Services are designed to process information in such a manner that the information cannot be directly attributed to a specific, identifiable individual without the use of additional information (such as your name, address, or email address).
We (and our partners or vendors) may collect this information the first time an End User interacts with a Customer Website that uses our Ad Services, and we may combine and associate this information with information we (or our partners) may collect about the End User’s interactions with other ads served through our Platform
.Analytical/Performance Cookies
Information about an End User’s behaviour on our Customer Websites, such as information about the activities or actions on those Customer Websites and geo-location using IP address.
Targeting or Advertising Cookies
Information about ads served, viewed, or clicked on, such as the type of ad, where the ad was served, whether the End User clicked on it, the number of times an End User has seen the ad, and whether the End User visited the Media Buyer’s website or relevant app store and/or purchased or installed the product or service advertised
We use cookies and other similar tracking technologies (such as pixel tags, IDFA, AAID/GAID, UDID, and web or browser caches) to collect information automatically from End Users’ devices. They help us identify unique browsers or devices used by an End User and to perform functions like, for example, limiting the same ad from continuously reappearing, ensuring that ads are properly displayed on our Customer Websites, and serving an ad more relevant to the End User
If End User does not want cookies to be dropped on End User’s device, they can adjust the setting of the Internet browser to reject the setting of all or some cookies. For further information about how to do so, please refer to the browser ‘help’ / ‘tool’ or ‘edit’ section for cookie settings w.r.t the browser that may be Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox etc.
Colombia collects both PII & non-PII data. We collect PII data through enquires or through Colombia registration page etc. We may collect name, email address, phone no. etc. We keep PII data in hashed form.
Colombia collects non-PIIs such as browser, device, device type, OS, IP, network provider, platform, geo-location (derived from IP), mobile advertising IDs such as Apple IDFA or Google AAID.
We collect events related to Colombia ad serving activity such as the number of ads or type of ads shown to a user or ads clicked by a user on different scenarios or post-click activity in relation to the ad. This allows us to personalize and develop user analytics in a secure & non-identifying way for users.
We also collect technical user identifiers from our advertising partners for the purpose of linking the different browsers and mobile apps you use and serve you relevant ads based on your behaviour across environments (“ID syncing”).
We collect information in order to improve the relevancy of ads being shown to you. The data we collect is used for reporting and analytics purposes and to give our clients & partners more information about the performance of their advertising campaigns and to improve performance over a long time.
We don't use or store full IP address for targeting purposes. We do not collect hardware-based identifiers such as Mac Address.
We do not process any information which could be used by Colombia, directly or indirectly, to determine the personal identity of the user.
Colombia doesn't knowingly show any interest based advertisement to & collect and maintain data from children less than 13 years of age. If we realize we have unknowingly collected data from children less than 13 years of age, we make considerable efforts to remove such information from our system.
Colombia tracks user’s online behaviour & serves interest based advertising based on that. If a user wants to opt out of that, he or she can click on the below link for opting out of interest based advertising.
How to find IFA/IDFA: For IOS devices
The easiest way is to install an app called “the Identifiers”
• Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone.
• In the right pane, locate the information
about your iPhone, including its name, capacity, software version, serial number, and
phone number.
• Reveal the Identifier by clicking on Serial Number.
How to find AAID: for Android devices
• Go to menu > Setting > Google > Ads
• You will find your advertising ID there.
If you are on a web browser on your mobile device, you should follow the instructions above. However, mobile applications use different technologies to recognize your device. To opt out of your app usage data, being used to target advertising within apps, you should follow the instructions below.
Visit the Apple support page for more information.
Visit the Google support pagefor more information.
You can prevent your browsing from being tracked generally by adjusting your browser settings, browsing in ‘private mode’ or using browser add-ons. You can find out how to do this by visiting the relevant support page for your browser, or by using the help function on your browser:
• Not Opted Out: Colombia will serve you interest based sponsored content based on your history.
• Opted Out: You have opted out of interest based advertising; Colombia will no longer serve you with personalized sponsored content recommendations based on your internet usage history.
Opting out will NOT prevent you from seeing our sponsored advertisements, but ads you see will likely be less relevant because they won’t be tailored to your interests.
You may still continue to see sponsored content relevant to the current website/webpage you are viewing (i.e. context-based ads).
Note that if your browsers are configured to reject cookies, your opt-out may not be effective, since we identify your choice to opt-out based on a cookie we deliver to you. So you will need to confirm that your browser is configured properly in order to make the opt-out option
Our Customers and partners may use information that we share with them to establish connections among related devices (such as smartphones, tablets, and computers) for targeted advertising, analytics, and reporting purposes. They may match an End User’s devices if the End User logs into the same online service on multiple devices or web browsers, or if the End User’s devices share similar attributes that support an inference that they are used by the same person or household. This means that information about an End User’s use of websites or applications on his or her current browser or device may be combined and used with information from the End User’s other browsers or devices. For example, this allows Media Buyers to deliver ads on an End User’s tablet based on activities the End User engaged in on his or her smartphone.
Please note that you will need to opt out separately on each of your browsers and on each of your mobile devices to ensure that information collected on a particular browser or device is not used on another browser or device
a) Online webmweb environment:
To honour a user’s opt-out choice, Colombia drops an opt-out cookie. Colombia stores user profile for a maximum of 30 days between two subsequent visits i.e. if a user doesn’t revisit any CAN publisher at least once within 30 days, the user profile along with opt-out preferences is deleted and then he/she will have to again opt out from interest-based advertising. The lifespan of Colombia cookie is 10 years. If the user regularly visits any of CAN publishers(at least once in every 30 days) then the opt-out choices are stored for a maximum of 10 years with the cookie. In case a user deletes opt-out cookie from a browser then he/she will have to again opt out from the interest-based advertising.
b) In-app environment:
Web browser environment and in-app environment are separate. If you don't want to receive interest-based sponsored content irrespective of the platform type, a user must disable or opt out from both the online web and mobile-app environment.
To opt out from interest-based advertising on an android app, the user should refer to “Ads” tab under google setting in his/her android device. Refer link for detailed steps for doing the same.https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/3405269

Colombia has partnerships with multiple ad networks which render ads through Colombia's proprietary platform. If a user opts out of Colombia’s interest-based ads, this does not mean that he/she is will not receive interest based ads from Colombia’s network partners serving ads through Colombia’s platform on Colombia publisher network.
If a user is interested in opting out from specific network's interest-based ads, he or she can opt out through the network’s privacy policy page or the opt out page.
If the user has opted out of any of our network partners, he/she will not obtain personalized ads from that partner via Colombia or as mentioned in their respective privacy terms. He/she may still receive personalized ads from Colombia and other partner networks serving through Colombia’s platform.
Our key advertising partners are listed below. The data they collect will be subject to their privacy policies and they may allow other companies to use cookies and tracking technologies to collect information about your website usage and your interaction with their adverts.
